What's Changed
New GPL-3.0 License applied instead the apache 2.0
Why change anything?
As the sole developer of this project, I've decided to change the license from Apache 2.0 to GPL-3.0. This change reflects my commitment to keeping this software truly open source.
Why should I care?
- Preventing Proprietary Versions: GPL-3.0 ensures that corporations cannot take my work, improve it, and release those improvements as closed-source software.
- Community Benefits: Any modifications must also be open source, ensuring all improvements benefit everyone.
- Protecting the Project: This prevents commercial entities from creating superior proprietary versions that could undermine the original project.
Also:
All previous versions under Apache 2.0 are now considered deprecated.
This license change applies to version 1.1.0 and all future versions
Only GPL-3.0 versions will be supported going forward
I believe this change better aligns with my vision for this project as a truly free and open resource.
