Changes since V2 series.
- Build chain uses fontmake instead of custom font compiler.
- Variable fonts added.
- Static fonts are instantiated from the variable fonts.
- Use GitHub Actions to build and test the fonts.
- The v2.000 hinted fonts had their own sources. v3.000 has unified the hinted and unhinted sources.
Regressions
- Glyph overlaps have not been removed in the static fonts. If we remove the overlaps, the VTT hinting will not work.
- Italic styles appear more condensed in heavier weights.
- Vertical metrics will appear tighter when using the Variable fonts in Windows Chrome versions 69-72. This is due to these versions of Chrome using FreeType instead of DirectWrite.
