Important
As mentioned with v0.6.0, most WKT exports have been removed from protobuf.wkt. We don't expect the removed types to be used much if at all in user code, but if you have not regenerated stubs with 0.6.0, now they will need to be from at least 0.6.0 to work.
Python 3.15
This release targets Python 3.15 - we have new version-specific wheels for 3.15 and 3.15t for optimal performance on those Python versions. We also publish a free-threaded stable ABI (abi3t) wheel so future unreleased free-threaded Python will be able to have a wheel available if we haven't published one yet. We also found we had missed supporting 3.14t for Windows - we now publish the same wheels for Windows as other platforms.
Along with the release of 3.15, 3.10 has been end-of-lifed, so we also do not support it or publish wheels for it anymore.
Pure Python package
With this release, we now publish protobuf-py-pure, the pure Python implementation for protobuf-py. We expect almost all users to continue to use protobuf-py to have fast marshaling, but we recognize there are certain use cases where forcing pure Python is appropriate, such as when using with WebAssembly or injecting into unknown black-box servers. protobuf-py-pure is the same code as before, just without the automatic dependency on protobuf-py-ext.
