The package needs Python 3.11 or newer now. The 0.14 releases were the last to support 3.10, as the deprecation warning of that series announced. Nothing in the behaviour changed with it - the versions from 3.11 to 3.15 are built and tested as before.
Changed
- The package requires Python 3.11 or newer (#168): the classifier of 3.10 is gone,
requires-pythonsays>=3.11, and the CI builds the five versions from 3.11 to 3.15. The deprecation warning that announced the change is gone with it. - pre-commit 4 is in the dev extra now (#168). It needs Python 3.11 - that was the reason it was held back at the 3.x line, and with the support for 3.10 gone the reason is gone too.
- The
from __future__ import annotationsis gone inutils_np.py(#168), where numpy and the type aliases are there at runtime anyway, so the annotations are evaluated as they are written. The three modules that keep the import are the ones that name the numpy types underTYPE_CHECKING: without the future import, 22 of their annotations would need quotes, which is worse than the import.
Documentation
- The credits block is out of the readme (#169).
