Performance
- A long run of
$no longer makes reading a page's tags quadratic: linting a line of two hundred thousand of them before a tag went from 2.2 seconds to 0.15. Formatting such a line is still slow, for other reasons. - A tag's quoted attribute values are jumped over instead of read one character at a time. That makes reading tags about a tenth faster on its own, but a whole format or lint run takes about as long as before.
