packagist spatie/phpunit-watcher 1.25.0

What's changed

  • Upgrade the package's development test suite to PHPUnit 13 and migrate its XML schema while retaining source coverage.
  • Add end-to-end watcher coverage for argument forwarding, filtered failures, continued watching, and successful reruns after file edits.
  • Validate Composer manifests, actual platform requirements and security advisories in CI; run supported PHP versions with lowest and latest dependencies without fail-fast cancellations.
  • Retain the separately merged PHP 8.6 CI coverage and update GitHub Actions dependencies and Dependabot actor checks since 1.24.4.

Requirements

  • PHP 8.4.1+ (within PHP 8.x); PHP 8.1–8.3 support is dropped.
  • Symfony components 7.4 or 8.x; Symfony 6.x and 7.0–7.3 support is dropped.
  • clue/stdio-react 2.7+ (within 2.x); version 2.6 support is dropped.
  • Developing this package requires PHPUnit 13.4.5+ (within 13.x). This does not force watched projects to upgrade their PHPUnit executable. Real watcher subprocesses were verified with PHPUnit 10, 11, 12, and 13. Runtime source and the public CLI entry point are unchanged.

These dependency/platform floor changes were explicitly approved for this minor package release.

Known upstream warnings

PHP 8.6 continues to report two third-party constructor-return deprecations in clue/term-react and clue/utf8-react, also present before this release. CI keeps them visible and preserves the existing non-failing third-party-deprecation policy while failing first-party/PHPUnit issues. No vendor patches or blanket suppressions are included.
