New features and enhancements

• Added the notifyFileChanged method to IZoweExplorerFileApi (the file API returned by getFileApi()) so extenders that save to the mainframe outside of Zowe Explorer's filesystem provider can invalidate the cached entry and trigger VS Code to re-read the file from the mainframe. #4481
• Added SSH host key verification when issuing UNIX commands so the identity of a z/OS SSH server is confirmed before credentials are sent. #4529

Bug fixes

• Fixed an issue where a single failed load of the credential manager caused Zowe Explorer to report an erroneous error message and error cause for the rest of the user session. The Failed to initialize secure credential manager message was associated to the cause Keytar was not properly loaded due to an unknown cause, which kept the failed module with empty exports. Later checks incorrectly reported the credential manager as available. The real load error is now logged, and Zowe Explorer consistently falls back to unsecured profiles instead. #4360
• Fixed an issue where falling back to unsecured profiles could fail activation with the message The credential manager name 'false' is an unknown credential manager. #4360
• Fixed an issue where the error message shown when saving a data set with lines exceeding the logical record length was too vague to identify the problem. #4076

• Fixed an issue where sequential data sets open in the text editor were not refreshing after a remote save, because the cache bypass that forces a network check when a file is open in the editor was only applied to PDS members and not sequential data sets in stat(), the filesystem provider method VS Code calls to detect file changes. #4481
• Fixed an issue where a data set or USS file would fail to open with a "The editor could not be opened due to an unexpected error" message after re-authenticating with valid credentials. #4495
• Fixed an issue where open editor tabs showed an error when launching VS Code if the profile's token value was missing or expired. #4059
• Fixed hover/tooltip inconsistencies in favorited search nodes where search criteria or path was displayed instead of the profile name. #4011

• Fixed an issue where filtering PDS members by user ID was case-sensitive, so a lowercase user ID filter would not match any members. User ID filtering is now case-insensitive. #3723
• Fixed an issue where data sets with a PLX qualifier, and their members, opened as PL/I files. Use the VS Code files.associations setting to choose a language for those data sets. #3801
• Fixed an issue where UNIX commands were always wrapped in an SSH_TTY terminal redirect, even for profiles that do not use SSH. #4564
• Fixed redundant SSH server deployment confirmations when connecting to an already installed, up-to-date server. Confirmation is now requested only when automatic installation or updating is needed. #4563
• Fixed seconds precision missing for SSH profiles when displaying "Modified Date" of PDS members in the data set table view. #4582

• Fixed an issue where the ProfilesCache.requireKeyring function could return an erroneous undefined error instead of reporting when the Secrets SDK failed to load, causing callers to treat an unavailable credential manager as available. #4360
• Removed PLX from the .pli entry in DS_EXTENSION_MAP, so data sets with a PLX qualifier no longer get a PL/I file extension. #3801
