gitlab zzzarathustra-dev/power-moon-recomp v0.2.0

What's new
  • 120 fps with frame interpolation (experimental): for displays at 120 Hz or more. The game still runs at 60, but every second image is an in-between rendered from the game's own state (camera, objects and animations halfway between two frames), not a blend of two pictures. It costs about twice the GPU work and half a frame of delay. If your PC can't keep up in a scene, it pauses for a few seconds instead of slowing the game down. Still experimental: the picture can flicker at times. Off by default (Video tab), based on LAS Recomp's frame interpolation.
  • Ultrawide (21:9, 32:9): "Aspect ratio: Fill window" shows more of the world at the sides instead of black bars, the HUD keeps its shape in the middle. Menus, map, fades and transitions fill the screen. Off by default.
  • No more banding: the color steps in dark skies, fog and night scenes are gone (the original game stores its final picture with too few shades in dark tones). "Smooth gradients", on by default.

Updating: Windows: unpack the zip over your old "Power Moon Recomp" folder. Linux: replace the AppImage. Saves, settings and mods stay. Because of the ultrawide support, the game code is built once more on the first start (a few minutes).

You still need your own copy of Super Mario Odyssey 1.0.0 (exefs + romfs). Nothing of the game is included.
