soapbox-pub/ditto v2.44.3

on GitLab

Added

• The whole app is translated into German and Japanese, including tarot readings, dates, money, and push notifications

• Profiles have an Articles tab between Media and Likes

• Animated GIFs keep their animation when you crop them

• Videos embedded in articles play right in the article

• Pages that don't exist now open onto a night sky over Saturn

Changed

• Article images reserve their space and show a blurred preview while they load, so the page doesn't jump

• Images you upload in the article editor carry their size and blurred preview with the article

• Search results keep loading further back without skipping posts, and the new-posts pill only shows posts that match your search

• Hot-sorted Global feeds no longer show a new-posts pill

• Notifications you read on another device clear without a refresh

• Turning off replies also hides them in saved feeds, hashtag, and location tabs

• Page headers and spacing look the same across feed pages

• Shared profile links show search engines the profile's latest posts

• Android notifications run in the background without slowing the app, reconnect more gently on shaky networks, use less battery, and stop missing posts from some relays

• Monero wallet sync saves its progress as it goes and pauses while the app is in the background

Fixed

• The keyboard no longer leaves a keyboard-sized blank gap on Android 11 through 14

• Android notifications show the sender's name and picture again from relays that had been dropping them

• The followers list on a profile no longer loses its place while you scroll it

• Archive.org embeds play instead of showing "Page not found"
