After a really long time, v1.8.0 is almost ready. We'll potentially go through a series of release candidates before the final v1.8.0 release is ready and tagged after a week or so without any critical bug reports after the last release candidate.

There are too many small features to summarise them all in these notes, so I'll just stick to the most relevant and important features and bug fixes that have been merged since the last release.

New features

• Delete your own comments
• Edit your own comments
• Sort comments by upvotes or chronologically
• Custom count.js text (see data-custom-text in docs)
• Automatically update OAuth profiles on login
• Edit your profile information (such as name, photo, website)
• Delete your account
• Custom page IDs using data-page-id
• Support custom Gitlab installations as OAuth source
• Import comments from a different Commento installation

Bugs that have been fixed

• Failing OAuth buttons
• Incorrect comment count after a comment was deleted
• Email notifications are now more robust
• Github OAuth failed when the user has no specified name

New stuff relevant to developers

• Migrated Go dependencies to to go mod
• Migrated the frontend build process to Gulp 4
• Removed DCO
• Docker support for arm64
