• Now Playing Card Ambient Idle Library Showcase (Screensaver & Card Layout):
  • Added idle_backdrop_cycle option to automatically rotate through your Jellyfin library media covers and fanart backdrops when nothing is actively playing, replacing the static idle placeholder.
  • Supports two presentation styles via idle_display_mode:
    • 'backdrop' (Full Fanart Backdrop / Screensaver): Edge-to-edge backdrop hero art with bottom scrim gradient, title, metadata row (release year, runtime, star rating pill, genre pills), and plot overview.
    • 'card' (Card Layout): Portrait poster art with dynamic blurred fanart backdrop, title, release year, star rating pill, genre pills, and description.
  • Configurable cycle interval (idle_cycle_interval, 5s–120s, default 20s) and media type filtering (idle_media_type: 'both', 'movies', or 'tvshows').
  • Seamless hardware-accelerated two-layer <img> crossfading for both backdrops and posters with 0% opacity blackout, dimming, or layout shift.
  • Automatic preloading of upcoming slide poster and 960px backdrop images to guarantee instantaneous transitions.
  • Resource efficient: rotation timer automatically halts during active playback, when disconnected, or when dashboard tabs are hidden (visibilitychange listener).
  • Integrated into visual card editor with dropdown selectors and toggles translated across all 8 supported languages (en, sl, de, es, fr, it, nl, ru).

• Now Playing Card Active Metadata Row Modernization:
  • Upgraded the active playback metadata row: replaced plain comma-separated text strings with modern frosted-glass genre pills (.genre-pill), subtle bullet separator (.meta-dot), and clean release year typography (.meta-year).
  • Improved client device line (.client-line) with refined contrast, letter spacing, and vertical rhythm.
  • Unified vertical spacing across both active and idle card layouts (5px between title and metadata row, 10px between metadata row and description).
• Latest Media Hero Banner Card Examples Modernization:
  • Modernized the metadata row in examples/dashboards/latest_media_hero_card.yaml for both Movie and TV Episode cards with styled season/episode badges (b.badge-primary), subtle resolution pills (kbd.badge-subtle), amber star rating pills (mark.badge-rating), and frosted-glass genre pills (em.badge-genre).
  • Added dedicated badge margin spacing (margin-right: 8px, margin-bottom: 4px) across both HTML inline styles and card-mod CSS rules for clean, reliable spacing across all dashboard views.
  • Updated example dashboard grid_options to rows: auto and columns: 36 for modern section layouts.

Fixed

• Now Playing Idle Poster Crossfade & Transition Stability:
  • Resolved backdrop dimming glitch during slide transitions by replacing CSS background-image divs with dedicated hardware-accelerated <img> layers.
  • Eliminated text jump jitter by removing redundant translateY animation during slide changes.
  • Fixed duplicate genre display on TV series in Card layout by ensuring subtitle only renders genuine taglines.
