New and improved
- Choose new-file destinations. The new-file dialog includes editable folder and filename fields. Companion plugins can also build template selectors through ExcalidrawAutomate.
- Editable Lucide icons. Obsidian uses Lucide icons, now available as editable Excalidraw strokes. Search and insert them from the command palette "Insert Lucide Icon" or image menu. Also available to CLI agents and scripts through
ea.addLucideIcon(). #3019 - Mermaid diagrams. Migrated to Obsidian's new Pele library. Thank you, kepano! The new SVG importer brings diagram types not yet supported by Mermaid-to-Excalidraw into your scene as editable Excalidraw strokes. Update Excalidraw Extras to use the updated converter.
- SVG imports. Import editable shapes and text from the image menu, or convert an SVG image already in your drawing. #3018
- CLI image previews. Agents can inspect images and request smaller previews without changing the originals. #3004
- Mindmap Builder. Copy your K-Plex canvas as Mindmap Builder Markdown, ready to paste into Excalidraw. Mindmap Builder also accepts Mermaid mindmap syntax from the clipboard. #2996 Its floating input hides in view mode and returns when editing resumes.
Fixed
- Adding links to text or shape labels no longer breaks undo history.
- Resized and cropped Markdown images retain their dimensions and crops when edited. #2947
- Fullscreen works in nested workspace splits and restores the surrounding panes on exit. #2743
- Image drops honor modifier-key actions, and YouTube thumbnails retain their video links. #2967
- Settings no longer create unnecessary backup or Git updates when nothing has changed.
