Disco! 3.2.0
A big polish release for Disco, Squash and Null, with a new list style, new letter pickers, a new way into Quick settings, round track menus and a battery-friendlier interface. Ring and Braun are unchanged; Zune gets the new letter wheel.
New
- Wheel lists (Display › your theme's settings › Scroll › Wheel): the current row is pinned to the middle of the screen, large and in the main text colour. One row shows above it; the rows below get smaller and greyer and sink under a soft fade. Lists snap so a row always rests in the middle.
- QS style (Display › QS style): Classic opens Quick settings with the pull from the top, as before. Shade first lowers a now-playing shade on any screen but Music: the cover (tap to play or pause), previous and next either side, title and artist (tap for the album), progress, clock and battery. Pull again, or tap the grab bar, and it grows into the theme's own Quick settings. Swipe up to close it; the Home swipe works there too.
- Letter wheel (hold the letter dot at the foot of a list, or hold the rim scrollbar): the letters near the current one stand along the right edge; turn clockwise to go forward, counter-clockwise to go back, and the list jumps live. Squash keeps its dot on the right edge. Left-handed Disco mirrors it.
- A–Z keypad: the picker behind the A–Z pill is a round keypad. Letters with nothing behind them are dimmed and cannot be tapped; the list's current letter is filled.
- Round track menus: the Music pop-up and the Library's hold-a-song menu are round menus like the album menu, the song's cover and a back arrow in the middle. Clockwise from the top: Favourite, Lyrics, Album, Artist, View queue, Info, +Queue, +Playlist. Album shows a record, Artist a microphone.
- Song info: an Auto-tag button adds the lyrics and artwork the song is missing.
Changed
- One header line on every screen: the title centred, the back arrow beside it and fully in view; long titles step down in size, then use the whole line.
- Play and Shuffle are the same pills everywhere: Play filled in the accent, Shuffle outlined.
- The wheel album view: the cover with Play and Shuffle beside it and the album and artist below; an album's title also shows under its cover in the classic list. An artist's albums list shows a small cover beside each album.
- List fades only use empty space, never cover a row at rest, are pre-drawn and dithered (no colour steps), and colour blending is now exactly rounded (no darker bands).
- Queue, Equalizer, Search and the volume pop-up are tidier: centred buttons, names that fit, a dimmed background behind the volume.
- Rows and buttons ease in and out of their pressed look; menus and notices ease in.
- Round menus show Back instead of Cancel.
- Squash screensaver: a clock twice the size, the picture half as bright.
Fixed
- Idle power-off works again (the Disc's sound chip never reports "quiet" while paused; the idle timer now watches the song position).
- Text never scrolls up and down anywhere; long single lines scroll sideways a few times, then rest.
- Disco: the large wheel row never slides under the navigation shard.
Battery
- The interface sleeps between events instead of checking 33 times a second; idle background checks slow down; the vinyl screensaver turns at 15 frames a second; weather stops retrying without Wi-Fi.
Testing status
The changes were tried by the owner on a Disc with FiiO V2.57 through a series of preview builds. This exact build has passed the host build and the release checks; like every Disco release it is a best-effort hobby release, provided as-is. Back up first, use your own signing keys for an SD update and follow Updating.
