✨ v2.4 — Bridge to anywhere
SoloMD becomes interoperable with everything else you already have — a vault that talks to other tools both inbound (web pages, iOS, scripts) and outbound (Claude Desktop, Cursor, terminal). Five drops in one release.
Note: this release uses tag v2.4.1. Tag v2.4.0 also exists but had no artifacts (CI workflow bug; fixed in this build). The application source is identical.
🔌 CLI + MCP first-class
solomd-mcp now ships bundled inside the desktop app as a Tauri sidecar — no separate install needed. Settings → Integrations panel surfaces:
- The path of your MCP server (
/Applications/SoloMD.app/Contents/MacOS/solomd-mcpon macOS, alongside the .exe on Windows, in the AppImage's resources on Linux). - A ready-to-paste Claude Desktop config (
mcpServers.solomd-vault) you can drop into~/Library/Application Support/Claude/claude_desktop_config.json. - CLI install status with a one-tap "Install / Update solomd CLI" button.
Standalone tarballs also ship for users who don't want the desktop app:

📥 HTTP capture endpoint + inbox workflow
POST http://127.0.0.1:7777/capture with bearer-token auth lets anything on your machine drop a markdown note into your vault. Off by default; toggle in Settings → Capture endpoint. New /capture/health route lets clients verify the pairing without writing.
The new YAML field inbox: true marks a note as triage-pending. Cmd+E toggles it; the file tree shows a count badge. Tolaria-inspired, no folders required.
append_path mode (new in this release) lets a single capture call append to an existing file instead of creating a new one — used by the iOS Shortcuts "append-to-daily" recipe.
🔗 Browser web clipper (Chrome + Firefox)
Three actions from the popup, the right-click menu, or a keyboard shortcut:
- Clip whole page — Mozilla Readability + turndown, lands as markdown in your inbox with YAML front matter (
source_url,captured_at,title,inbox: true). - Clip selection —
Cmd+Shift+S/Ctrl+Shift+S. Just the highlighted text. - Save link —
Cmd+Shift+L/Ctrl+Shift+L. Title + URL only, no fetch.
100% local — the extension talks only to the loopback URL you pair with. No third-party server, no telemetry. Chrome MV3 + Firefox MV2 (MV3 in a later release once Firefox's service-worker story stabilises).

📖 Reading mode + iOS Shortcuts
A new fifth view mode alongside edit / split / liveEdit / preview — maximally clean serif preview, no editor chrome, max-width ~720 px. Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R toggles. iOS auto-defaults to it on tab open (toggleable in Settings).

Engineering notes
- The clipper's options page has a
subfolderinput that the server doesn't yet consume — forward-compat; will wire in v2.5. - New public
GET /capture/healthroute on the capture endpoint (token-gated, returns app version + workspace info). - macOS dmg is built locally (notarytool can hang on GitHub-hosted runners). All other platforms via CI.
