Widescreen menus by default, many menu fixes, the screen reader in the settings and setup windows, and the first Mac download. Plays online with 0.1.39, 0.1.39.1 and 0.1.39.2.
Update from inside the game: on 0.1.39 or later, press Update now when the game says an update is available, then Restart now. Your saves, settings, game data, mods and texture packs are not touched.
New
- Mac (Apple Silicon), experimental: a download for Macs with an M1 or later chip, macOS 11 or newer:
Tenkaichi3Decomp-macos-arm64.zip. It isn't signed by Apple, so macOS blocks it at first: step 0 of its README.txt says how to allow it. From this version on it updates itself like the Linux and Windows versions. Thank you to josehs08 for testing the Mac builds. - Screen reader in the settings and setup windows (#259, thank you Lethal-Lawnmower): with the screen reader on, the settings window (F1, or START + SELECT) and Dragon Net Battle's window now say the item in focus (its name, value and state), the window and tab, and tooltips. The setup window reads each page, the disc image fields, each install step with its progress, and "Ready to play" or why setup stopped; F2 repeats. After a page changes in the setup, the keyboard focus goes to the new page's first control, so Tab keeps working.
Widescreen menus are now the default (still beta)
If you never picked a layout in F1 → UI → Menus, the menus now open in Widescreen (beta): at their true shape across the whole picture. If you chose Stretched or 4:3 before, the game keeps your choice. You can switch back any time in F1 → UI → Menus. If a screen looks off, please tell us which one (a screenshot or a short video helps).
Fixed in Widescreen menus
- Title: the logo keeps its shape, and Piccolo's cape is no longer cut at the old 4:3 edge.
- Main menu: the selected entry's streak keeps its shape when scrolling up; message text starts at the left on every menu.
- Popups (save, load, quit, overwrite): at their true shape, with the dimming across the whole screen.
- Ultimate Battle: the plate labels no longer stretch while scrolling.
- Duel: the mode window slides in whole; Battle Settings is centred with its values lined up; the background fills behind Vegeta and Nappa.
- Character Reference: the list and its scroll bar sit together on the right; a character's page has the portrait on the left and the name and choices on the right; the introduction is centred; the darkening covers only the space beside the portrait; the title band runs across the whole top.
- Evolution Z: customising has the player's side on the left and the Z Points on the right; Item Exchange's list, prices, purchase question and item explanation keep their shape.
- Sim Dragon: the day screen's panels sit at the edges, the portrait and health bar level with the Z Points counter, the counter centred above the monitor; the pause menu's options no longer stretch.
- Dragon History: the "Battle Unlocked!" window is centred and its static effect matches its size.
- Tenkaichi Budokai Online menus: their text is no longer stretched.
Other
- Data Center → Replay: the replay list loads at once, without the memory card window (with quick saving on, as it is by default). A card problem or a damaged file still shows the game's own message.
