Fewer hitches when a fight's first big effect appears. Everything from 0.1.38.4 is included.
Updating on Windows: replace every file of the old copy, not only the .exe.
Faster

The first big effect of a fight. An ultimate's glow and blur need extra drawing buffers on the graphics card, each the size of the screen times the internal resolution (about 130 MB at 8x). Creating them took several milliseconds each, and the first big effect needed four at once, so that one picture took much longer than the game's 33 ms. The game now remembers how many buffers it needed at most and prepares them ahead, in quiet frames, before the effect comes. It uses no more memory than before, only sooner.
In a recorded session of two fights with ultimates at 8x, the heaviest picture went from 40 ms to 14 ms. On a machine simulated to be slower, skipped pictures went from 43 to 30 and the 1% low from 26.4 to 27.7 fps (from 80 skipped and 22.3 fps in 0.1.38.3). Every picture looks exactly as before.
The first session on a computer learns how many buffers are needed; from the next one on they are ready in advance.
Fixed
- Some settings were forgotten when closing the game: how much a Square press counts in clashes, Low input lag, the game speed (Cheats tab) and "Music follows game speed". They were only kept if another setting was changed afterwards; now they are saved as soon as you change them.
Online matches work with every 0.1.38 version.
