PC port of Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Changes since v0.1.1: on Windows, fights run about twice as fast (a settings lookup that is slow on Windows was being repeated tens of thousands of times per frame), and frames are paced more evenly.
Installing
- Download the archive for your system and unpack it anywhere.
- Start
Tenkaichi3Decomp-setup(Tenkaichi3Decomp-setup.exeon Windows) and choose your own disc image of the USA release (SLUS-21678), as an.isofile. - Press Play. Afterwards the game can also be started directly:
Tenkaichi3Decomp(Tenkaichi3Decomp.exe). In the game, F1 opens the settings.
The archives contain no game data. The setup checks your disc image and unpacks the game's data next to the program; about 4 GB of space is needed.
Requirements
- A 64-bit x86 processor and a graphics card with Vulkan support and current drivers.
- Linux with glibc 2.35 or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 36 and later), or Windows 10 / 11.
What works
Boot, the opening movie, menus, saving, fights, split screen; music, voices and sound effects; keyboard and controllers with rebinding; internal resolution up to 8x; widescreen and ultrawide.
Known limitations
- The Windows build has had one run on a real Windows machine (in a VM) and is otherwise tested under Wine.
- A small number of character models need a drawing routine that is not written yet; the game stops if one is shown.
- No online play yet.
- Only the USA release is supported.
If the game crashes it writes bt3_crash.txt next to the program; please attach it to a bug report.
