🦊 v6.0.0 – Major Feature Update

🎨 New: 10 Optional Color Themes

• Added uc.flex.style-sidebar-stripe-color:

  • Controls the color of the sidebar stripe, sidebar button (Firefox logo), and the bookmark star icon.
  • In Dark Mode, it also applies to tab borders, backgrounds, highlights, and the Sidebery navigation icon.
  • Values: 0 = Classic (same as previous versions, default); 1 = Red; 2 = Orange; 3 = Yellow; 4 = Green; 5 = Cyan; 6 = Blue; 7 = Violet; 8 = Purple; 9 = Pink; 10 = Gray.

• Added uc.flex.style-sidebar-stripe-color-apply-to-all-icons (Boolean):

  • Applies the sidebar stripe color to all icons.
  • In Dark Mode, it also applies to URL bar and web area borders.
  • This option also overrides Firefox's default bookmark star icon color (when uc.flex.revert-to-original-bookmark-star-icon is enabled).

• Added uc.flex.style-sidebar-stripe-color-use-gradient (Boolean):

  • Applies a gradient variant based on the color selected in uc.flex.style-sidebar-stripe-color.
  • These gradient colors apply to the sidebar stripe, sidebar button icon (Firefox logo), bookmark star icon, and bookmark folder icons.

🗂 New: “List All Tabs” Button Icons

• Added uc.flex.style-all-tabs-button:

  • Sets the icon for the “List All Tabs” button.

  • Values:

    • 0 = Firefox default icon
    • 1 = Filter (same as previous versions, default)
    • 2 = Chevron

📌 New: Sidebery Collapsed Navigation Icons

• Added uc.flex.style-sidebery-nav-icon:

  • Sets the navigation icon shown when Sidebery is collapsed.

  • Values:

    • 0 = Use active panel icon (new default)
    • 1 = Sidebery Logo
    • 2 = Chevron (previous default)

• Added uc.flex.style-sidebery-nav-icon-use-active-panel-color (Boolean):

  • Sets the navigation icon to use the color defined by the current active panel.

📑 New: Tab Border and Background Styles

(Native Vertical Tabs and Sidebery only)

• Added uc.flex.style-tab-items:

  • Sets the appearance of tab items.

  • Values:

    • 1 = Pinned tabs: Borders only, no background. In light mode, the border color matches the URL bar border. In dark mode, it matches the sidebar stripe. (Same as previous versions, default)

    • 2 = Pinned tabs: Background only, no borders. In light mode, the background color matches the URL bar background. In dark mode, it matches the sidebar stripe.

      Tabs: Feature smooth hover transition animations, and their borders and highlights use the sidebar stripe color.

🗃 New: Tab Group Styles

(Native Vertical Tabs only)

• Added uc.flex.style-tab-groups:

  • Sets the appearance of tab groups.

  • Values:

    • 0 = Tree layout, no expand/collapse indicator
    • 1 = Tree layout with triangle indicator (same as previous versions, default)
    • 2 = Box layout with folder icon

• Added uc.flex.style-tab-groups-add-transition:

  • Sets the expand/collapse transition and rotating indicator animation for tab groups.

  • Values:

    • 0 = No transition
    • 1 = Enable expand/collapse transition
    • 2 = Enable transition + rotating indicator (default)

• Added uc.flex.style-tab-groups-center-label-text (Boolean):

  • Centers the tab group label text.

⚠️ Breaking Changes

Deprecated

The following options are deprecated and no longer have any effect. Please remove them from your Firefox preferences (about:config):

• uc.flex.style-tab-group

  • Replaced by:

    • uc.flex.style-tab-groups
    • uc.flex.style-tab-groups-add-transition
    • uc.flex.style-tab-groups-center-label-text

• uc.flex.enable-gradient-highlight

  • Replaced by uc.flex.style-sidebar-stripe-color-use-gradient

• uc.flex.revert-to-original-sidebar-icon

  • Its functionality is now included under uc.flex.style-sidebar-button = 0.

Updated

• uc.flex.style-sidebar-button

  • Value range updated from 1–4 to 0–4
  • 0 = Firefox default icon

• uc.flex.show-tab-count-in-alltabs-button

  • Value range updated from 0–4 to 0–2
  • 0 = Do not display tab counter (default)
  • 1 = Show count of all tabs
  • 2 = Show count of loaded tabs only
  • Icon appearance is now controlled by uc.flex.style-all-tabs-button.

Removed

• The old Sidebery styles that were previously imported through sidebery-styles.json have now been fully migrated to uc-sidebery.css. Starting from v6, FlexFox no longer relies on styles injected via the Sidebery Styles Editor.

  • If you are upgrading from an earlier version, please delete the legacy styles still remaining in the Sidebery Styles Editor after updating to avoid unnecessary CSS overhead and potential conflicts.
  • From v6 onward, sidebery-styles.json is no longer provided. New installations only need to import sidebery-settings.json.
  • After that, you can completely disable FlexFox's default Sidebery styling with uc.flex.skip-loading-uc-sidebery.css, allowing more flexibility when combining other custom styles.

🛠 Improvements and Fixes

• Various visual refinements and bug fixes.
• Added styling support for the new Trust Panel feature introduced in Nightly v148. This feature is controlled by browser.urlbar.trustPanel.featureGate and will be enabled by default in v148.
• Fixed a regression introduced in Nightly v148: when hovering over pinned tabs in native vertical tabs, the sidebar would not maintain the hover state and would automatically collapse.
