Brings the fork up to official NuvioTV 0.9.3-beta, with compatible upstream changes integrated around the fork's existing behaviour. Thank you to the NuvioTV team and contributors.

The headline this time is Nuvio V2: a completely redesigned interface, from choosing a profile to browsing your library and controlling playback. Two visual styles, adjustable glass, a personal poster-wall welcome screen and two new player layouts give the fork a whole new look — with Original Nuvio still a setting away.

Cinematic Glass or Pure Liquid Dark

Choose the atmosphere that suits your TV:

• Cinematic Glass brings translucent panels, soft reflections and supported background frost to the interface, keeping the artwork visible behind menus and controls.
• Pure Liquid Dark gives the same redesigned interface a deeper, darker presentation with restrained surfaces and clear highlights.

The redesign extends across Home, title details, Search, Discover, Library, settings and the in-player menus. Shared controls, panel shapes and focus treatments make moving between them feel consistent.

Make the glass your own

Start with Clear, Light Frost, Balanced or Frosted, then adjust Glass transparency and Glass blur strength independently. Make a panel more see-through without having to make it blurrier, or add more frost while keeping a readable surface. Selecting a preset restores that preset's two starting values.

Glass tint can follow the selected accent, take colour from the artwork, or stay neutral. Blur adapts to supported hardware and visual-quality settings; playback video remains visible through transparent player panels without decoded-video blur.

With Cinematic Glass, the separate Glass colour theme takes the material further towards clear glass: the milky white/grey wash is replaced by an almost-transparent neutral body, subtle edge reflections and a thin focus outline. Text-heavy panels retain enough contrast to remain readable.

Your artwork, from the moment you arrive

The V2 profile screen has a poster-wall backdrop drawn from your own Home catalogues, using artwork cached on the device after browsing. Redesigned profile cards and avatar focus make choosing who's watching part of the new presentation.

After profile selection, a theme-coloured animated intro plays while Home and its posters load in the background, then fades into the browsing screen. There is also an Intro animation switch if you prefer to go straight in.

Sized for your screen, tuned for your device

Automatic interface scaling adapts the layout to the app's available screen space. Fine-tune the automatic result, or choose a manual scale.

Automatic visual quality selects effects appropriate to the device and can reduce them when sustained rendering pressure is detected. You can also choose Performance, Enhanced or Maximum yourself. Device limits still apply to effects such as live blur.

The interface, scale and quality choices stay on the device, so adjusting a TV stick does not force the same sizing and effects onto another box.

Focus and navigation with more choice

• Glass Outline offers a clean edge treatment; Cinematic Glow gives focus a broader halo. Poster focus stays steady instead of bouncing or resizing the row.
• Use the selected theme colour for consistent highlights, or let accents adapt to the artwork.
• Choose Floating sidebar or Top navigation.
• Choose Minimal or Glass settings presentation, with matching cards, selectors, popups and focus rings.

Existing supporter restrictions remain in place for restricted colours and gradients, including those shown in the demo.

Two new ExoPlayer interfaces

Control Deck groups playback controls into a clearly defined panel. Invisible provides minimal player controls with theme colour highlights and less visual weight over the picture.

Audio, subtitles, sources, episodes and the playback HUD share the V2 presentation. Player glass stays neutral, allowing the video to show through without an artwork-coloured wash. The More control reveals additional options in the same row, and closing a panel returns focus to the control that opened it.

The fork's playback HUD remains available as part of the player; the familiar Original Nuvio controls are still available when using the original interface.

Improved

Smoother browsing and better poster reuse

Poster work now gives cached artwork priority, reuses matching prefetch requests and avoids duplicate loads. Visible rows begin loading promptly, with prefetch sized to the viewport and bounded work for nearby artwork.

Returning from Details or playback makes better use of posters already in memory, and cached artwork can be reused after restarting the app. Focus decoration and transitions have also been refined to reduce unnecessary layout work while scrolling.

These changes reduce avoidable loading and redraw work; a first-time image still depends on the artwork service and connection.

More consistent details, trailers and settings

Title details use the selected title's artwork, with cleaner entry and return transitions. The Home trailer sits in a larger corner presentation with softened edges, while supported glass panels can refresh their frost over a playing Home trailer.

Settings have clearer category focus, tighter spacing and panels sized to their content. Search, Discover, Library filters and player utilities use the same V2 materials and focus language.

Fixed

• Home hero artwork follows the focused title. Late results from an earlier selection cannot replace the current title's background, and available artwork no longer waits for unrelated metadata enrichment.
• Failed or outdated artwork requests cannot supply another title's fallback. If the correct image is not ready, the interface can use a neutral background rather than showing the wrong title.
• Details transitions no longer expose stale Home content underneath the new screen.
• Player panel focus returns to its launching control, including Sources, Episodes and the expanded More options.
• Glass colour-theme cards no longer carry the previous white/grey sheen and heavy focus bloom.

The integration also restores AniSkip and Anime-Skip support, with profile-aware settings and safeguards against stale skip results. The fork's playback defaults and buffer-sizing policy are retained; binge-group saved-link reuse defaults to off, with existing saved preferences respected.

Getting started

Open Settings → Appearance → Interface experience → Nuvio V2, then choose Cinematic Glass or Pure Liquid Dark. The other V2 appearance controls are available in the same area.

Original Nuvio remains the default for installations that have not selected V2. Choose it again at any time to return to the familiar interface.

Install

Sideload the appropriate APK via ADB or a file manager:

• app-full-arm64-v8a-release.apk — for devices running a 64-bit ARM Android system.
• app-full-armeabi-v7a-release.apk — for devices running a 32-bit ARM Android system, including compatible Fire TV models.

This fork uses com.nuvio.tv.test and installs alongside official NuvioTV. These APKs update the existing fork installation; the separate Nuvio V2 Acceptance app used during testing is a different installation. Keep the installed fork when updating to retain its local data.
