The two headlines for this release are:
- Increased fluidity while scrolling
- Preview thumbnails during fast-forward and rewind (what? no way. he didn't did he? oh yes he did.)
New Feature
- Preview thumbnails: see a frame of the video while rewinding or fast-forwarding (experimental, english only for now, new setting, on by default)
Added
- Player: Confirm seek with OK. After skipping left or right, playback waits at the new position until you press OK; Back cancels (new setting, off by default, Settings > Interface > Player)
- The "Can't reach Wuplay servers" screen now runs a network check and sends a diagnostic report, for help with troubleshooting
Changed
- Smooth scrolling: holding left or right glides through a row, and holding up or down glides down poster-row screens
- The hero area now updates once you settle on a card instead of on every card you pass (the previous method could cause jitter)
- Episode long-press menu: Streams is now the first item
- Every number (player clock, Ends at, counts, seasons, ages, slider values) now uses standard digits in every language
Fixed
- Upcoming and premiere date badges were a day behind in Europe and other regions east of the Americas
- Startup could hang and fail to reach Wuplay servers on networks that advertise IPv6 but can't route it
- Some custom-built Android boxes were wrongly shown the "phone or tablet" notice and couldn't open the app
- Wuplay home screen could load with nothing focused (first D-pad press jumped somewhere random)
- Player: holding a seek no longer dims the screen and pulses the logo as if buffering
- Dialogs left a thin undimmed strip along the edge of the screen on some devices
- Pulsing logo now appears when changing streams from in-player stream picker
