A crash with an SDRplay RSP, fixed. From a crash report: when the SDRplay API service had gone quiet, the vendor library refused FoxSDR's request to stop the stream - and a refused stop has stopped nothing, so the library kept hold of FoxSDR's sample callback. FoxSDR kept the buffer that callback fills only if a callback happened to be inside it at that moment; otherwise the buffer was freed when the device was closed, and the next block the service delivered was copied into freed memory. A refused stop now keeps the buffer for the life of the process and drops whatever arrives late. Recovery on such a machine is still restarting the SDRplay API service and then FoxSDR.

A tune the radio refuses now says why. Ask a radio for a frequency outside what it covers - 7.1 MHz on an RTL-SDR whose tuner starts at 24 MHz, say - and the counter used to stay where it was with nothing on screen or in the log to explain it, whether you used the wheel, the switches or typed the figure. The Source section now says "This radio cannot tune to 7.100 MHz - it stayed where it was. Its range is 24.000 MHz to 1.766 GHz", and the log records it once. A refusal inside the radio's range is still silent, because that is a busy driver and not a fact about the radio.

What has and has not been checked. 135 tests pass on Windows and on a clean Linux clone. The SDRplay fix is proven against a fake of the vendor API that refuses the stop and then keeps delivering blocks after the source has gone; no RSP is on the bench. The refused-tune sentence was seen on a real RTL-SDR. GitHub issue 2 ("cannot change frequency") was NOT reproduced and stays open.

The Linux files are still in development. The Android alpha stays at 0.98.1-android.1. The Microsoft Store copy trails this page while Microsoft certifies each update.
