A DEMOD SCOPE in the VIEW bank. An oscilloscope on the receiver, drawn as the bench instrument this cabinet would have had: a phosphor trace on a ten-by-eight graticule with a four-position input selector. AUDIO shows the demodulated sound, triggered on a rising crossing so speech and tones stand still, with a 1-2-5 time base from 1 to 50 ms per division and an AUTO gain. SPEC shows the audio spectrum. I/Q shows the channel as the demodulator sees it, I above the axis and Q below. VECTOR plots I against Q, which is the view on which AM, FM and SSB actually look different: an unmodulated carrier draws a circle. The scope shows what the speakers are playing, so when a plugin such as the DAB+ decoder has taken over the audio the cabinet says so.
The time base, gain, and input are remembered between sessions; the page itself is not reopened at startup, like every other page.
