FoxSDR 0.91.0

latest releases: v0.99.107, v0.99.106, v0.99.105...
one month ago

RTL-SDR and HackRF now have native drivers. FoxSDR talks to these radios itself, over Windows' own WinUSB, with no PothosSDR, no radioconda and no libusb involved. Every crash an RTL-SDR user has reported this month lived inside that separately installed stack; it is no longer in the path. You still bind the dongle to WinUSB once with Zadig ("Bulk-In, Interface (Interface 0)"), and that is all. A radio you had saved through SoapySDR opens natively by itself on the next start. The RTL-SDR driver supports the R820T, R820T2 and R828D tuners, including the RTL-SDR Blog V4's HF path; an E4000 or FC00xx dongle falls back to SoapySDR with a message. Every other radio still goes through SoapySDR as before.

The Source section shows each radio's real controls. Gain sliders span the tuner's own stages and ranges (LNA, MIXER, VGA and the aggregate TUNER on an RTL-SDR; LNA, VGA and AMP on a HackRF), the rate list is the radio's own, and a rate changed from the browser now moves the desktop control too. A dongle that is plugged in but not yet bound to WinUSB is named, with the one-line Zadig instruction.

--rtlsdr-check on the command line lists the bound dongles, opens the first, streams for three seconds and reports.

Not yet met by real hardware: the HackRF driver (proven against the reference protocol only) and the Blog V4 path. Reports from those radios will be read closely.
