The receiver position can be read from a GPS on a serial port. In the Radar section of the VIEW bank, and on every map page's bar, under the typed latitude and longitude: a port field with a drop-down of the machine's COM ports, a baud drop-down (9600 by default, 4800 for older NMEA pucks), and a Read position from GPS key. It listens until the first valid fix, sets the receiver position exactly as a typed one is set, closes the port, and remembers the port and baud. After 60 seconds it says which of three things happened: nothing arrived (wrong port, receiver off), bytes but nothing readable (wrong baud, or a receiver sending its binary protocol), or sentences with no fix (no sky). The log records the port name, baud, counts and errors, never a position or a sentence. Built without a GPS on the bench: the serial path is exercised through a simulated port, and the first real receiver it meets is yours.

A maximised window fills the work area, not the screen. A window with no title bar is maximised by Windows over the taskbar; the bottom rows of the picture sat under it, and with a taskbar at the top it was the rail and its keys that vanished. Maximised now means exactly the work area.

The pointer ledger has a switch. Diagnostics section: "Show the pointer ledger across the top of the window". For a click that lands beside its control, switch it on, hold the pointer over the control and send a screenshot with the log.
