Band plans, for the whole world — and an admission. FoxSDR has had a band plan feature since 0.60: labelled service allocations drawn behind the spectrum, coloured by service, with a readout naming what you are tuned to. It has never worked in a released build, because no release has ever contained a single band plan file for it to read. The code was complete and tested; the installer simply never carried the data. That is fixed, and the fix is most of this release.

Nine plans, 422 bands. A worldwide plan, a baseline for each of the three ITU regions, and country refinements for the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Japan and Australia. Choose yours under Display → Region. Picking a country loads its region underneath it, so you get the regional allocations plus whatever your country does differently.

The default is the worldwide plan, which holds only the allocations that are identical everywhere. That is deliberate rather than lazy: the ITU regions genuinely disagree. 40 m ends at 7.2 MHz in Europe and 7.3 MHz in the Americas, mediumwave has different edges and a different channel spacing, FM broadcast starts at 87.5 MHz rather than 88.0, and Japan's FM band is 76–99 MHz and overlaps nothing else. Any regional plan shown to someone whose region is unknown is wrong somewhere, so FoxSDR starts with what is true everywhere and leaves the choice one click away.

Tuning tells you where you are. The readout names the most specific band containing your frequency, so 145.800 MHz reads "ISS Downlink" rather than "2 m Amateur", and 110 MHz reads "VOR / ILS Navigation" rather than just "Airband".

Every range came from a regulator, not from folklore. The ITU Radio Regulations 2024 allocation tables, 47 CFR, ISED's Canadian table, ACMA's class licences, Japan's MIC assignment plan, ICAO Annex 10 and the GNSS interface control documents. Each plan file records its own sources in a note you can read. Four errors in the existing data were found and corrected along the way, including a 23 cm band that ran 25 MHz past the amateur allocation. The plans are informational — a display aid, never a licensing reference — and they are plain JSON you can edit or extend yourself.

Also in this release: the Region picker skips plans that will not parse rather than emptying the menu, so one bad hand-edited file cannot hide the rest; and a saved region now actually survives a restart, which it would not have.
