The third release candidate of Oculante 1.0, to test. Not meant for packaging yet.
What to test, and where to report: #813. Compared with 0.9.6 on the same machine nothing may be worse.
New since rc.2:
- Camera RAW files are read with rawler: Canon CR2 and CR3 (#558), newer Fujifilm RAF (#560), Pentax PEF, Panasonic RW2 and Olympus ORF open, portrait photos stand upright. quickraw stays for the rest
- Levels and Curves, as in Photoshop
- Saving a copy of a TIFF or RAW file as JPEG no longer ends the app, and the copy gets only the EXIF about the photo (no old orientation, so it isn't turned twice)
- macOS: a mouse wheel zooms as on the other platforms again (it was several times too fast), two fingers on a trackpad move the image (a setting brings back two-finger zoom)
- Windows: a pinch on a touchpad zooms instead of going through the images, thumbnails in the file browser load again
- Two fingers on a touchscreen zoom
- Shortcuts with Shift, Ctrl or Alt work again
- Linux: "Same as system" follows the desktop again, the window opens as large as it was on Wayland too
- Typing Chinese into a field no longer freezes the app
- The note "Viewing Red channel" shows again, in the middle of the image area (#816)
- Noise: a button for new noise
- Settings: how much memory the image cache may take
- With settings carried over from 0.9.6, AVIF is among the formats to save to
- DICOM: files without a preamble, with JPEG 2000 and palette colour open
- Annotations: stamps, and selecting them works better (#815, thanks @Stoppedpuma)
