16.0
This release brings internationalisation to liana-gui, enables taproot by default in the installer,
continues the UI rework through the "Drafts & approvals", "Transactions", "Coins/UTXOs" and
"Settings" pages, introduces default labels inherited from addresses, coins and transactions, and
moves the encrypted descriptor backup to bip138.
Breaking changes
Running Liana v16 on an existing installation will migrate its database.
Once migrated the database won't be compatible with previous versions of Liana.
This means you won't be able to open with Liana v15 (or below) any wallet opened or created with Liana v16.
Liana GUI
- The encrypted descriptor backup is now written as a BIP138 v1
.bip138file instead of a.bed
file. Liana v15 and below cannot read it. Reading is unaffected: the.bedfiles and the base64
text backups written by previous versions still decrypt.
Features
Liana GUI
- Internationalisation: French, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese and European Portuguese catalogs,
with a language picker in the settings. - UI rework: reworked the "Drafts & approvals", "Transactions", "Coins/UTXOs", "Recovery" and
"Settings" pages and the "Self-transfer", "Payment details" and "Transaction details" panels
around new foldable card, list entry and label components, reworked the installer template
diagrams, and reworked the "Coin selection" header and divider of the "Send" screen. - Default labels: coins, transactions and payments now show the label of a related item when they
have none of their own, with an info tooltip saying where it comes from. See
doc/LABELS.mdfor the whole logic. - Use bip138 for the encrypted descriptor backup, add a privacy mode to it, and offer the other
common derivation paths when decrypting a backup. - Enable taproot by default in the installer: the address type menu now offers "Taproot
(recommended)" and "Segwit" instead of "Advanced settings" and "P2WSH", and a device that cannot
do taproot says what to do about it instead of only stating the incompatibility. - Offer managed Bitcoin Core upgrades on wallet open, and bump the managed Bitcoin Core to 31.1.
- Display the spend status of PSBTs and add a toggle to hide the confirmed ones.
- Page the Liana Connect payment history with a (block_time, txid) cursor.
- Display the recovery warnings, including the new one raised when the recovery transaction sends
to an address of the same wallet. - Sanity check the network on descriptor and backup import.
Liana daemon
- Store and serve a default label for transactions.
- Warn when
createrecoveryrecovers to an address of the same wallet.

.dmginstead of a.zip.
Fixes
Liana GUI
- Fix the import of test network backups.
- Check the daemon receive addresses against the wallet descriptor.
- Set the descriptor when importing it from a file in the Liana Connect installer, and detect
encrypted files. - Close Liana Connect sessions when dropping cached credentials and before pruning the cache, and
refresh cached tokens from their expiry. - Fail downloads that stop receiving data.
- Correct the Electrum address placeholder in the settings.
- Hide the edit button in the node settings of a managed bitcoind, and make the node configuration
non-editable while waiting for the ping. - Slice tab titles by characters instead of bytes.
- Limit the label length in the coin details view.
- Show a rescan warning when a pasted descriptor is imported.
- Hide the payment section of a PSBT that has none.
- Improve mouseless navigation in the key import flow, and make the select key modal scrollable.
- Fix the node selection view, the imported key tile and badge colors, the key color in the
decaying multisig template, and the dismiss button icon.
Liana daemon
- Encode the bitcoind wallet RPC path, fixing wallet paths that contain spaces.
Liana
- Recompute the receive and change descriptors on deserialization.
- Reject a key used alongside a k-of-N primary path when k > 1.
