Display Filter preview with a reproduced Streamline restart crash fix, NR compatibility loading, and an embedded experimental RTX 40-series MFG unlock.
Download
- New installation: download and extract
display-filter-v0.4.0-preview.zip, then rundisplay_filter.exe. Keep the includedruntimefolder beside it. - Existing installation: the separate
display_filter.exeasset can replace your executable; keep your existing runtime folder. - Supply your own compatible
nvngx_dlssnr.dllthrough the runtime selector. NR DLLs are not bundled. The ZIP includes DLSS Super Resolution and Streamline/DLSS Frame Generation runtimes and licenses.
Changes
- Streamline error 24: fixes a stale logging callback into an unloaded Streamline plugin when restarting capture. NGX now initializes first with an application-owned callback and the required runtime paths.
- NR compatibility: adds the direct compatibility-loader fallback already used by OptiScaler, addressing the standalone loader's rejection of compatible cross-generation NR DLLs.
- RTX 40 MFG built in: select 3x or 4x to request the unlock on a verified Ada GPU. Includes temporal interpolation correction and software pacing; no ReShade, ASI loader or extra unlock DLL is needed.
- Unsupported/ambiguous patch layouts retain the verified 2x limit. RTX 50-series retains native FG. No NVIDIA runtime files or NVIDIA App settings are changed.
Validation
The old loader reproduced the Streamline 24 failure on the second forced-relocation restart; fixed builds passed repeated restarts. Build, host patch checks, and three complete RTX 5090 restart cycles passed with two NR passes, private DLSS, resizing, 2x/3x/4x FG and D3D12 validation. The compatibility NR path also rendered successfully on the 5090.
RTX 40-series hardware output quality, pacing and stability still need tester validation. The local checks do not establish those results. Use an NR model compatible with your GPU generation.
Settings and logs remain in %LOCALAPPDATA%\OptiScalerNR; Ctrl+Alt+End stops capture. The executable retains its self-signed development certificate, which is not a publicly trusted publisher signature.
As with previous Display Filter previews, this is a binary release. The tag points to OptiScaler baseline 3f34e024c41dda0625b909b30e6a5b0b4c2f4d01, not a standalone-source snapshot. Existing in-game OptiScaler releases are unchanged.
