Embedded Engineering Skills 2.0.0

A broader embedded engineering toolkit with 43 skills for Arduino, ESP-IDF, Zephyr, STM32Cube, Pico SDK and MicroPython.

Highlights

  • Rename the repository and plugin identity to embedded-engineering-skills, with updated provider manifests, marketplace metadata and a new bundled logo.
  • Add dedicated Zephyr, STM32Cube, Pico SDK and MicroPython workflows, backed by pinned build fixtures. Rust support is deferred.
  • Add six debugging skills covering probes, fault forensics, buses, boot/flash recovery, memory/timing and USB.
  • Add mixed-framework build inspection, generated memory-configuration provenance checks, real-time control design and wireless telemetry analysis.
  • Add native ESP-IDF OTA/rollback guidance, desktop debugging references and a host-tested drive-lease example.
  • Organize discovery into seven catalogue folders while retaining flat, portable skills/<name>/SKILL.md bundles and existing Arduino-specific skill names.
  • Manage Python tooling with UV and locked dependencies; add cross-platform host checks and native build workflows.

Migration

This is a breaking plugin namespace change from arduino-skills to embedded-engineering-skills. GitHub redirects do not update installed plugin IDs, saved paths or host caches. Use your host's supported installation workflow and verify that each skill is discovered once. Existing installations are not upgraded automatically.

See the identity migration guide and catalogue. Source documents describe the earlier review-branch checkpoint; this release publishes that same tagged commit without merging the branch into main.

Validation

  • 43 skill bundles validated; 8/8 shared-contract themes, 20/20 deterministic cases and 42 host unit tests passed.
  • C++17 drive-lease checks passed.
  • Six representative fixture builds were verified locally, including a clean ESP-IDF build from authored defaults.
  • GitHub Embedded workflows and Sensor signal filtering passed for this exact commit.

Build and host checks do not establish physical hardware behavior, RF latency/loss, motor safety or installed-host plugin discovery. MicroPython Unix smoke does not establish MCU device behavior.
