Summary
Dynamic Island now works on Macs and displays without a notch, on every display at once and on the Lock Screen. It adds a companion, Watch for any window, more AI agents, and new music, audio and calendar controls, while using much less battery. Window layout gets configurable snap areas, screenshots can go to the Shelf or a temporary link, and many bugs are fixed.
Dynamic Island
- Floats as a capsule on Macs and displays without a notch, can show on every display at once and appears on the Lock Screen.
- A companion rests beside the camera, reacts to what happens and can carry the Command Bar out of the island. Settings → Dynamic Island → Companion.
- Watch turns part of any window, like a progress bar, into a live activity. Settings → Dynamic Island → Content → Watch.
- AI Agents adds OpenCode and GitHub Copilot, a choice of which limit to show and Codex banked resets.
- Music adds shuffle, hover controls, browser and video playback, and opens your music app when nothing plays. Controls add a microphone fader and a keyboard light slider.
- Calendar adds countdowns to the events you choose, the time left in the current event, week numbers and a choice of calendars.
- Animations use much less GPU and battery, and timer and countdown digits roll to each new value.
Added
- Window layout snap areas: each edge and corner can use any placement, an edge can split into up to four areas, and windows snap across the edge two displays share.
- Screenshots can go straight to the Shelf, upload as temporary links, blur or erase only the text in an area and capture the full screen from the selection. Recordings can copy as GIFs.
- On macOS 27 and later, the Volume mixer can send one app to an AirPlay speaker.
- Command Bar previews and converts colors and remembers your app and emoji choices.
- A custom menu bar icon, linear scrolling, a fixed Spaces order, per-core CPU load, network speeds in bits and Focus follows mouse without raising windows.
Changed
- The menu bar panel lists tools one line each, Keep Awake starts with one click, and the Settings sidebar can be hidden.
- Clipboard history opens as a resizable list or a shelf of cards that shows where each copy came from.
- New features wait on the Features page instead of installing themselves on update.
Fixed
- Bug fixes in Dynamic Island, including music and lyrics, notices, hover and closing, AI Agents timing, battery and volume keys.
- Bug fixes in the window switcher, Dock Preview, window layout and focus follows mouse, including lag, stutter and placement across displays.
- Bug fixes in screenshots, recordings and the volume mixer, including quiet audio on outputs with many channels and lost pen strokes.
- Bug fixes in Clipboard history, paste as plain text, Command Bar, Cleaner, Uninstaller, Settings and the menu bar panel, including a freeze while scrolling the Features page.
