Summary
Dynamic Island is the focus of this update, bringing music, timers, calendar, notifications, downloads, files and everyday controls beside the camera. Improvements also cover App Switcher, clipboard, captures, recordings and cleaning.
Dynamic Island
- An optional island for Macs with or without a camera cutout, with customizable layouts, hover expansion, gestures and trackpad feedback.
- Music controls include seeking, synchronized lyrics and the player's queue, with music apps taking priority over browser videos.
- Drag floating shortcuts beside or below the island, and reach its sections through a searchable gallery and keyboard navigation.
- Timers and configurable focus cycles stay accurate through sleep, with repeating sound alerts for up to five minutes.
- Browse appointments by month and mirror new notifications, with an optional inbox that clears when the Mac locks.
- Follow downloads from a chosen folder, organize shelf files, create ZIP archives, convert media and open the camera mirror.
- Volume, brightness, keyboard light and accessory alerts share a black surface that stays consistent across appearances.
- Online lyric lookup needs separate consent and sends only the title, artist, album and duration, never audio.
