Summary
Dynamic Island brings music, live activities and everyday tools together at the top of your screen, including a dedicated view of your AI agents. Version 3.4.0 also expands window management, capture and clipboard tools, adds automatic audio device switching, and improves everyday reliability and performance.
If you use Extra Brightness on 3.3.5, turn it off before updating so it cannot cover the administrator password prompt.
Dynamic Island
- An optional, experimental island for Macs with or without a camera cutout, with customizable layouts, click or hover opening, gestures and keyboard navigation.
- Control music with seeking, synchronized lyrics and the player's queue. Follow music apps automatically or choose a playback source; online lyric lookup requires separate consent.
- Keep timers, focus cycles and a stopwatch within reach, browse your calendar, and preview or revisit notifications.
- Choose which activity stays visible beside the camera, or combine a timer with music, a download or a working AI agent.
- Follow local AI agent activity, plan limits, API value and usage history, with alerts for completed tasks and usage limits. Usage data stays on your Mac.
- Reach Clipboard History, Shelf, Scratchpad, the volume mixer and device controls without leaving the island. Drag in files for storage or media tools, and manage captures from its header.
- Arrange sections and shortcuts with a live preview, choose where the island reopens, and customize its outline, Liquid Glass, display and full-screen behavior.
Added
- Screenshots gain custom watermarks, sharing, pinning and editor shortcuts. Screenshot and recording editors offer adjustable blur strength, and recordings can export at speeds from 0.25× to 4×.
- Clipboard History gains a resizable window, image editing and color swatches. Shelf keeps pinned items across restarts and accepts complete attachments dragged from other apps.
- Window Layout adds quarter rows and columns, vertical thirds, app exceptions and width cycling. New shortcuts help move windows and the pointer between displays, including stacked monitors.
- App Switcher adds filtering by the pointer's display and optional instant selection. Dock Preview gains an experimental option to keep an auto-hidden Dock visible while browsing.
- Audio device priority switches to the highest-ranked connected output or microphone. The volume mixer adds microphone volume, pinned apps and a saved custom order.
- Display controls add extra dimming for supported external monitors, custom brightness shortcuts and optional built-in display dimming with the lid closed. Keyboard brightness is adjustable from the panel.
- Command Bar adds scientific calculations, emoji skin tones and up to 64 custom shortcuts.
- Keep Awake adds separate Duration and Until modes and stricter automation conditions. Fan Control can optionally resume a manual speed or curve after restart or sleep.
- An optional wallpaper gallery in the menu panel.
- Slovak and Ukrainian translations throughout the app.
Changed
- Settings gains grouped navigation, Back and Forward buttons and clearer feature setup. Newly installed features start their main behavior unless a previous choice was saved.
- Package management offers direct installation from search and groups dependencies; Cleaner and Uninstaller scans can be cancelled.
- Lower temporary memory use in the screenshot editor.

- Bug fixes in App Switcher, Dock Preview and multi-display behavior, including window focus, unwanted resizing, slow previews and panel placement.
- Bug fixes in screenshots and recordings, including image sharpness, scrolling captures, audio synchronization, saving and capture shortcuts during a recording.
- Bug fixes in Clipboard History and audio controls, including recovery after clipboard service restarts or stalled playback, and clearer handling of failed copies and microphone changes.
- Reliability fixes for permission resets, keyboard input, sleep restoration, cleaning, uninstalling and menu bar icon recovery, with clearer reporting when an operation cannot finish.
