Which Installer should I choose?
The Web Installer (Recommended) is the easiest option for those who don't yet own TS2. It requires an internet connection and automatically downloads the game files as well as dependencies you need to make the game work correctly.
The Standalone Installer is an easy, offline option to install the game & dependencies. Unlike the Web Installer, it requires you to pre-download the Ultimate Collection game files, such as the Standalone Starter Pack from the guide.

- If SmartScreen (the big blue “Windows Protected Your PC” box) appears when you try to run the installer, choose “more details” and then click the “run anyway” button.

BOTH Installers:
- The usual refreshed imagery, plus a new icon!
- General script refactors and improvements.
- The installers now perform cleanup more efficiently and use a temporary folder.
- The installers now remove the trademark (™) symbol from the game's DisplayName registry keys, preventing glitches/bugs (such as missing neighborhoods/and crashes in certain locales).
- This will also remove the ™ symbol from the documents folder name, making it consistent across locales.
Web Installer:
- The missing Happy Holiday item fix should now be properly applied to the base game archive.
- The installer will now perform SHA256 verification of the game archives, prompting the user to retry the download if a corrupted file is detected.
- The installer now provides the newer DXVK 2.1, and will also download dxvk.conf.
- The installer will now actually download the Shadow Fix if enabled, rather than simply linking to the download.
Standalone Installer:
- Now includes optional, offline versions of all components that were previously exclusive to the Web Installer (GRM, DXVK, VC++ Redist, .NET Framework, Shadow Fix).
