What's new since v1.219.004
The app offers this version as an update. It gathers the test builds v1.219.011 to v1.219.014 and adds fixes for what failed on them.
- Newest Eglantine core (
nx2at6051d36e80); none of our core patches is in upstream yet, so all of them stay. - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Its movies are decoded: AV1, through dav1d 1.5.4. Without it the screen stayed black with music after Press Start. Decoding was confirmed on a console with v1.219.014.
- Its upscaling networks now run instead of a plain upscale, which left its movies black on v1.219.014 (patch
0051). This can make its first launch build shaders for longer. - It stopped right after the intro; fence releases now run on the right GPU thread (patch
0049, from Aubépine). - Shaders, upscale stand-in and memory from Eglantine PR 614, Aubépine and Orchid (patches
0044,0045,0052).
- Donkey Kong Bananza: crashed when many objects broke at once (a buffer flush on the wrong GPU thread, as in Eglantine issue 636); fixed (patch
0050, from Aubépine). - Mario Kart World
- Fewer GPU readbacks (Eglantine PR 609); a tester found it a bit faster on v1.219.014.
- Task and mesh draws are off: they hang the PS5's GPU.
- Compact memory, and a GPU driver that splits large buffers over several free ranges.
- A possible cause of the 98% stop is fixed (Eglantine PR 543).
- Every game: newer GPU driver (PS5_Mesa
f5610fe27). The pipeline cache version changed, so each game builds its shaders again on its first launch. - Switches for testing: an
env.txtfile in/data/homebrew/PPSA98515/, with oneNAME=VALUEper line, sets the emulator's switches. For example,EDEN_NX2_TENSOR=0goes back to the plain upscale in Ocarina of Time.

Tested on a PS5
This exact build: nothing yet. On the test builds before it:
- v1.219.014, firmware 11.40:
- Mario Kart World reached its menu at 20-25 fps and ran out of memory after 119 s.
- Donkey Kong Bananza crashed when breaking many objects (fixed here).
- Ocarina of Time decoded its movies but showed nothing, then stopped after the intro (fixed here, untested).
- v1.219.011, firmware 13.60: Super Mario Bros. Wonder ran fine at 50-60 fps.
Known problems
- Mario Kart World still runs out of graphics memory after one or two minutes, and sometimes stops at 98% while loading. Close the app and try again. A lower resolution in its game settings (0.75x) may help; that is untested.
- Ocarina of Time has not been seen past its intro on a PS5.
How to install and report
- From the app: accept the update when it is offered. By hand: close the app, extract the zip and copy the
PPSA98515folder over/data/homebrew/PPSA98515. - To go back, install the v1.219.004 zip by hand.
- Please report the game, what was on screen and the files from
/data/eglantineps5/logs(crash-*,stderr.log) and/data/eglantineps5/user/log/eden_log.txt.
You need your own keys, firmware and games. Details in the README.
- The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Mario Kart World

- v1.219.014, firmware 11.40:
- v1.219.011, firmware 13.60: Super Mario Bros. Wonder fue bien a 50-60 fps.
Problemas conocidos
/data/eglantineps5/logs(crash-*,stderr.log) y/data/eglantineps5/user/log/eden_log.txt.
Necesitas tus propias claves, firmware y juegos. Detalles en el README.
