A working system keychain is no longer mandatory to use vicinae and its clipboard history built-in extension. Note that the clipboard history data is now stored in plain text by default, but you can still opt into using encryption from the clipboard extension preferences.
Next minor release will feature a rework of the theming system to allow more extensive theming 🎨
