Subtitles that arrive already broken
A subtitle file that some earlier tool read as Windows-1252 and wrote back out as UTF-8 is itself valid UTF-8 — so charset detection accepts it, correctly, and you get It’s where the author wrote It's. mpv's own auto-detection has the same blind spot for the same reason.
Nuvio now reverses the double encoding rather than matching known sequences, so Cyrillic, Greek and Japanese tracks come out right too — not just the Western European cases.
Episode scores from the addon itself
Addons that publish videos[].rating now have it shown, in preference to the TMDB score. It is the only per-episode rating obtainable at all: the service Android uses sits behind a base URL that ships blank in its public source.
Four settings
- Rating visibility, on Home and on a title's page — including hide until watched, since a 9.6 three episodes ahead tells you something happens there.
- Hide the Continue Watching rail entirely.
- Rename an addon, which survives the manifest being refetched.
- Sort your library by date added or title.
The rating-visibility controls are an apology as much as a feature: a previous audit withdrew them as "not a parity item" while reading an older tree than the release it named.
