⚠️ Alpha build — this release is for early testers only. Take a backup before upgrading, expect rough edges, and please report anything broken. Regular users should wait for the upcoming beta.

🎬 Playback & subtitles

  • Embedded bitmap subtitles now work in the MediaKit player, including PGS tracks on macOS and Android phones, with the required decoders packaged for every supported architecture
  • Android phones now use the subtitle-capable MediaCodec + GPU path by default, with a compatibility fallback if a device cannot initialize it; Android TV remains on ExoPlayer
  • Subtitle failures are surfaced promptly and failed selections roll back instead of leaving a misleading tick or saved preference
  • External subtitle downloads are handled more safely, including compressed files, malformed responses, oversized archives, and rapid track changes
  • Audio menus now show playable tracks accurately and apply remembered language preferences through the native player
  • YouTube launches that use separate video and audio streams keep their audio in external players

☁️ Device transfer

  • Remote transfers are now transactional and more resilient, preventing partial imports when a transfer is interrupted or retried
  • Remembered transfers now restore add-ons correctly and behave reliably on Apple TV

🏠 Home and browsing

  • Added an optional hold to Quick Play action for Continue Watching cards
  • Spotlight metadata stays readable and correctly arranged in portrait layouts

📺 Apple TV

  • Low-memory Apple TV models automatically use lighter Home artwork and search paths to reduce memory pressure
