⚠️ Alpha build — this one makes Debrify multi-user, and your existing setup is migrated into an admin profile on first launch. This release is for early testers only — regular users should not install this and wait for the upcoming beta. Take a backup before you upgrade, expect rough edges, and please report anything broken.
👥 Profiles — Debrify is multi-user now
- Everyone in the house gets their own Debrify — their own watch history, watchlists, trackers, addons, search state and look, with nothing leaking between them
- A who's-watching screen, in five looks: Marquee (the default), Theater, Row, Wall and Classic — with avatars you pick as art, an image or a GIF
- PINs, and a way back in — recovery codes for a forgotten one, and a lockout that stays lenient with the rest of the household
- A questionnaire sets each profile up — answer what this person should be able to do and the permissions follow, including whether they share your sources
- Settings › Profiles is a real hub: every profile, their role and what they can reach, all at level one
- Your existing setup migrates on first launch, and a migration that can't finish starts you on the old install rather than a black screen
🔐 Credentials, encrypted
- Debrid keys and tracker logins are now encrypted at rest, on the wire and inside backups
- Backups are always encrypted and carry profile PINs with them
- A backup you hand to someone else is sanitized first
- Backups work on a TV again — no save dialog there, so it falls back to a local folder — and a big library no longer freezes the screen while it saves
📡 Remote — send a whole household
- Transfer Everything can hand the entire profile graph to another device (admin only)
- Transfers run about 12× faster, repair their own gaps instead of hoping, and apply in seconds rather than minutes
- The TV reports what actually happened to each item, not merely that the bytes arrived
- Every credential flow says "Connecting securely", and an old phone that's locked out now says so
📺 Debrify TV, restaged
- A new Spotlight layout — a standing rail beside a stage that acts, with channel stats, a sample strip and a health pip
- Add, Import and Settings moved to the top as an icon row, and there's channel search: type and the rail filters as you go
- Phones get their own arm of the layout — a list with a channel sheet, rather than TV geometry squeezed down
- Pick the look in Settings › Appearance
🚀 A new way in
- Collider — the splash is two galaxies colliding, and the shockwave that follows is what lights the wordmark, letter by letter as it crosses each one. It's the new default; Event Horizon and the rest are still one row away in Appearance
🎬 Trailers and playback
- Trailers fall back to IMDb's own MP4s when YouTube won't serve one, so far fewer titles sit silent
- Regions where YouTube throttles play again — the resolver walks a ladder of clients and probes the URL before committing
- Ambient trailers are on by default everywhere, including Top Shelf on Apple TV
- Network & Buffering presets for slow stream origins — and Quick Play no longer gives up on an origin for being slow
🍏 Apple TV
- Audio runs on our own libmpv build through AVFoundation, and is capped to stereo on two-channel routes — the fix for silent and distorted playback
- Audio diagnostics so a reporter can narrow a problem themselves
- The IPTV guide keeps DPAD focus, and preference growth no longer creeps toward a process kill
📋 Watchlists
- Local movie and series watchlists — no tracker account required
🏠 Home, settings and the remote
- Settings redesigned for the Spotlight look
- One cursor per list again — opening a settings row and coming back could leave two or three rows all painted as focused, with no way to tell which one OK would open
- Holding OK on an episode opens its menu — Play, Sources and the tracker actions — instead of quietly playing it
- Home rows say what they are (Popular Movies, quietly from Cinemeta), Continue Watching cards go caption-free like the rest of the board, and TV card labels are sharper
- A live-TV freeze the audio clock was hiding is now caught
