github varunsalian/debrify v0.7.0-beta.1

Everything below has landed since v0.6.0-beta.1 — ten alpha builds consolidated into one release. Headlines: a full DVR for live TV, a rebuilt IPTV engine that handles 50,000-channel playlists, Simkl as a second tracker, and a TV experience you can now style to taste.

📡 Live TV — recording & guide

  • Record live TV. Capture what's playing straight from the player, or schedule recordings in advance — they keep running with the app closed, and a desktop capture outlives the player that started it
  • New Recordings hub — schedules and library in one place, with its own front door on phones, a user-set cap on simultaneous recordings, and conflicts spelled out instead of silently dropped
  • Full EPG: now/next across the page and both players, per-channel schedules, XMLTV matching that tolerates messy tvg-ids, and Xtream catchup to replay archived programmes
  • Boot straight into a live channel with a startup-channel setting
  • Xtream Series — browse and play series through the merged detail page, with series-aware Continue Watching, per-series audio memory, and Next/Previous episode
  • Continue Watching for IPTV — Movies and Series shelves on Home, resume across both players
  • Your own channel lists beyond Favorites, plus hidden categories, stable channel numbering and number-jump tuning
  • Zap channels in both players with a broadcast-style lower third, long-press UP to jump, night mode, and four switchable in-player guide looks
  • Per-channel HTTP headers and a real User-Agent — panels that block the default player finally play on phones
  • Recording is not available on iOS, and the app now says so instead of failing quietly

⚙️ IPTV engine rebuild

  • Playlists now live in a database. A 50,000-channel panel uses constant memory, opens without freezing, and searches off the UI thread — the first-open ANR, the 50k hang and the search freeze are all gone
  • Disk-cached catalogs with stale-while-revalidate and a refresh chip
  • Redesigned IPTV: EPG rows, a grouped Sources dropdown, two-pane settings on TV and desktop, and a Command Center cockpit with two premium looks — First Edition and Master Control
  • Phone IPTV settings rebuilt as a hub, with category-hiding made visible
  • Per-playlist editing, an optional Xtream name field, longer timeouts and retries on flaky panels
  • Xtream providers now survive a transfer or a backup restore — they were being dropped on arrival

📊 Trackers

  • Simkl is now a full second tracker, independent of Trakt: PIN sign-in, Discover browsing, watchlist and rating quick actions, scrobbling, episode progress bars, and a Connect step in first-run setup
  • Three-way resume — Simkl, Trakt and local progress reconciled, so you resume from the furthest point on any device
  • Simkl Continue Watching rows (paused + up-next), status-aware, with remove
  • Rewatch — finishing a movie and starting it again puts it back in Continue Watching
  • Pause-centric scrobbling, so your position survives a hard kill
  • A calendar with a Trakt/Simkl source dropdown
  • Trakt and Simkl get their own branded pills and sheets on the series page, and a settings section of their own
  • Sort Trakt and Simkl lists by when you added them

🎬 Playback & subtitles

  • Automatic subtitle sync on the Android TV player — it listens to the audio and lines the subtitles up itself (it asks first)
  • Skip intros in both players, with IntroDB and TheIntroDB providers, automatic fallback between them, and a squared Netflix-style skip chip
  • YouTube: closed captions in both players, VP9 for 1440p/2160p playback, and hold-OK to download on TV
  • MPEG/VOB files play instead of only offering a download
  • Filter HDR out if you're on an SDR display
  • Optional system audio effects — Wavelet and OEM equalizers can reach the player again
  • The phone player can open upright when you ask it to
  • Torbox's TV player gets the unified Miller-columns menu
  • Bold subtitles are crisp instead of smeared, and Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Macedonian join subtitle autoload

📺 TV experience

  • Seven launch animations, chosen in Settings — Event Horizon is the new default: a starfield collapses into a burning ring and leaves the mark glowing
  • Canvas, a full-screen Home layout, is now the default — every classic rail plus full-bleed live TV
  • Five sidebar looks, with chromeless Ghost as the default
  • Debrify Keyboard — an in-app DPAD keyboard so typing works on every TV, now with voice dictation and a paste key
  • Sleep timer — let the TV stop itself when you fall asleep
  • Home feels native: focus rise, DPAD glides, hero motion, and a splash that prepaints Home behind it instead of fading
  • The app no longer looks zoomed in on Android TV (screen size defaults to Medium)
  • Discover can open on the stage instead of the wall, and remembers how you sorted each source

🎨 Appearance

  • New Appearance section gathers every look and layout picker in one place
  • Text Brightness — Bright, Soft or Dim, applied app-wide for anyone who finds pure white too harsh on OLED
  • Launch animation, Home layout, sidebar style, Discover layout, screen size, IPTV look and player guide look all live here

⬇️ Downloads & Cloud

  • Downloads overhaul — far more robust, with a custom download folder via SAF on Android and a plain folder picker on Windows and Linux
  • Cloud providers can be used as bound sources
  • Deep-link torrent handling and keyword results now respect which debrid providers you actually have

📱 Phone & Desktop

  • Classic bottom navigation for phones, with a proper back contract
  • A front door to Recordings, and the cloud toolbar no longer hides under the status bar
  • Screen state survives rotation; desktop sidebar items show their labels
  • iOS release builds are ad-hoc signed so they can actually be sideloaded

🛠️ Fixes

  • Searchable settings on phone and TV, and Settings reorganized into ten sections by intent rather than by platform
  • Fixed a crash on launch on some TCL TVs
  • Android TV is detected properly (via Leanback) instead of guessing from UI mode
  • The Dart player no longer drains battery in the background
  • Stremio addons that declare no types are asked instead of dropped
  • IMDb descriptions are back on the detail page
  • A stray control byte no longer makes the IPTV view unsearchable
  • Raised the Prowlarr/Jackett timeout cap from 60s to 600s
  • Continue Watching cards offer Play and Remove on hold
