✨ Team roles on AWS, and switching your way
🔑 Assume team roles on AWS
- Sign in as yourself, work as your team. Signed in through IAM Identity Center with a personal permission set? You can now add the team roles you're allowed to assume (
sts:AssumeRole), including roles in other accounts. - Paste a role ARN or pick one from
~/.aws/config, then choose the account and role you sign in with. JET Pilot checks straight away that the role can be assumed. - Clusters follow the role. JET Pilot finds EKS clusters in the team role's account, and
kubectltokens for those clusters use the team role, in the app and in your terminal. - Find it in Add cluster › AWS › IAM Identity Center, or in an account's menu under accounts and roles.
🔀 Switch clusters and namespaces with a single pick
- New setting: Settings › Clusters › Context switcher › Picking a cluster or namespace.
- Add (the default) keeps working as before: picks combine clusters and namespaces.
- Switch jumps straight to the cluster and namespace you pick and closes the menu, like you may be used to from k9s.
- Hold ⌘ / Ctrl while picking to do the other one, whichever you chose.
Features
- assume team roles from an IAM Identity Center sign-in (#106) (077696d)
- optionally switch clusters and namespaces with a single pick (#103) (3a5a7d1)
Install
-
macOS:
brew install --cask unxsist/tap/jet-pilot, or download the.dmgfor Apple Silicon (aarch64) or Intel (x64).[!IMPORTANT]
JET Pilot isn't notarized by Apple. The Homebrew tap removes the quarantine flag for you. If you install the.dmgyourself and macOS says the app "is damaged" or "can't be verified", run this once:xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/JET Pilot.app" -
Windows: the
.exeor.msiinstaller (SmartScreen: More info → Run anyway). -
Linux:
.deb,.rpmor.AppImagefor x64 and ARM64.
Existing installs update themselves.
