🎨 Themes

JET Pilot is now fully themeable β€” and it speaks the theme formats you already use.

  • Built-in themes β€” JET plus favourites like Catppuccin, Tokyo Night, Dracula, Nord, GitHub, One Dark Pro, RosΓ© Pine and Gruvbox, and our own Blossom, Grove, Ocean, Ember and Iris palettes. Hover a card in Settings β€Ί Appearance to preview it on the whole app.
  • Bring your own β€” drop in a VS Code, Sublime Text or TextMate theme. Light and dark variants are paired automatically, and the YAML editor and terminal pick up the theme's own syntax and ANSI colours.
  • Open VSX gallery β€” search and install VS Code themes without leaving the app. Only MIT-licensed themes can be installed, so JET Pilot stays MIT.
  • Write your own in JSON β€” a canvas and an accent are enough; everything else is derived with readable contrast. The theme editor completes every colour role, shows swatches and previews live. Themes are plain files in the themes folder and reload as you edit them.
  • Switch in a keystroke β€” Mod+Alt+A opens the theme picker with live preview, Mod+Alt+Shift+A cycles system / light / dark. Pick a different theme for light and dark mode.
  • Portable theme files β€” export any theme as a standard JSON theme file. Theme files validate in VS Code too via https://www.jet-pilot.app/schemas/theme.json.

Preview every theme β€” or paste your own β€” at jet-pilot.app/themes.

Also

  • Readable suggestion lists in the YAML editor's light theme.

Features

  • custom themes (VS Code, Sublime, TextMate) with an Open VSX gallery (#93) (5e5a6f2)

Install

  • macOS β€” brew install --cask unxsist/tap/jet-pilot (opens right away), or download the .dmg for Apple Silicon (aarch64) or Intel (x64).

    [!IMPORTANT]
JET Pilot isn't notarized by Apple (it's free and open source, and we'd rather not pay Apple's yearly fee). Homebrew's main repository only carries notarized apps now, so the cask lives in our own tap, which also removes the quarantine flag for you. If you install the .dmg yourself and macOS says the app "is damaged" or "can't be verified", run this once:

    xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/JET Pilot.app"

Installed it with brew install --cask jet-pilot before? Switch once: brew uninstall --cask jet-pilot && brew install --cask unxsist/tap/jet-pilot (your settings are kept).

  • Windows β€” the .exe or .msi installer (SmartScreen: More info β†’ Run anyway).

  • Linux β€” .deb, .rpm or .AppImage for x64 and ARM64.

Existing installs update themselves.
