✨ JET Pilot 1.36 — a whole new JET Pilot
The biggest release so far: a complete redesign, multi-cluster support, a built-in terminal and dozens of fixes under the hood.
Highlights
- A whole new look — a new design system with polished dark and light themes, crisp typography and status colours you can read at a glance. Every screen has been redesigned.
- Multiple clusters and namespaces at once — connect to several contexts (across all your kubeconfig files) and any mix of namespaces; tables aggregate everything with Context and Namespace columns.
- Built-in terminal — press Ctrl+
</kbd> for a terminal withkubectl` already pointed at the current context (your own kubeconfig is never touched). Container shells now work on Windows too. - Richer details — the side panel shows containers, conditions, labels and events with one-click YAML, describe and logs. Tables have loading/error/empty states, an actions menu, stable selection and live status colours; killing a pod now asks for confirmation.
- Keyboard first — ⌘K/Ctrl+K palette with better fuzzy search, type-to-filter on every table, ⌘S/Ctrl+S in the YAML editor.
- Linux ARM64 — native
aarch64builds (.deb,.rpm, AppImage).
Under the hood
- Fixed: port forwarding never becoming ready (#37), copying text in the describe view (#69), missing PersistentVolumes view (#63), context search (#20), "All namespaces" only showing
default(#71), the resource graph getting stuck while loading, closed tabs that kept streaming in the background. - Safer: a strict content security policy, minimal permissions, sanitized release notes, SSO tokens are never shown, and edited manifests (including Secrets) are piped to kubectl instead of written to disk.
- Sturdier: bounded in-memory logs, no more log-viewer crashes, per-kubeconfig connections and much better error reporting.
Install
-
macOS —
brew install --cask jet-pilot, or download the.dmgfor Apple Silicon (aarch64) or Intel (x64).[!IMPORTANT]
JET Pilot isn't notarized by Apple (it's free and open source, and we'd rather not pay Apple's yearly fee). If macOS says the app "is damaged" or "can't be verified", run this once after installing (also after a Homebrew install):xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/JET Pilot.app"Automatic updates keep working afterwards.
-
Windows — run the
.exeor.msiinstaller. SmartScreen may warn about the unsigned installer: More info → Run anyway. -
Linux —
.deb,.rpmor AppImage for x64 and ARM64 (chmod +xthe AppImage).
Existing installs update automatically.
