This is a maintenance release to fix various bugs and introduce a couple new features. Meanwhile Last.fm scrobbling is currently in beta on the Discord server, if you are curious how far the progress is getting along! Feel free to join the server and drop a message, if you want to get access. More information under "Scrobbling" in the settings window of the app.

Changelog

  • Added the option to display custom text in your status by setting a custom Discord application ID under Discord > Appearance. This can be done globally or per media player. You can select "Custom" for "Display text" or "Profile display text" and an example ID will be pre-filled alongside a useful help text. Implements #520
  • Added the option to enter your own music API credentials for Spotify and TIDAL. This helps with retrieving additional song metadata more reliably, especially for Spotify, whose API unfortunately gets rate limited heavily. In the settings, go to Discord > Services, then scroll down to find instructions how to create and enter your own credentials. Implements #555
  • Added the option to self-host a cover image proxy server and use it with Music Presence! Open the settings and go to Discord > Services, then scroll all the way down to "Custom cover proxy server". For instructions on how to get started, read the documentation
  • Added the option to toggle your presence per Discord account. If you are using multiple accounts, you can now selectively disable the Discord presence for each account. The setting is located under Settings > Discord and by default the presence is enabled for all accounts you use
  • Added the option to hide the tray icon and to open the settings window when launching the application while it's already running. Also added the option on Windows to open the settings window when left-clicking the tray icon, which is disabled by default, in order to not break old behaviour. On Linux this is already the default. You can find these settings under General > Interaction. Implements #503
  • Added the option to explicitly set the country code to be used for music API requests. This can be necessary when your device's country is different from your streaming service account's country, which can lead to some songs not being found that have slightly different metadata in different countries
  • Drastically improved the startup time of the settings window, opening it should now feel instant. It is also now opened when the app is launched again. Added the option on Windows to open the settings window when left-clicking the tray icon. Generally improved the settings window UI to make everything look more appealing
  • Fixed a great number of bugs and added several other improvements.
  • Fixed around 20 bugs, added support for 33 new media players and added several improvements. For a list of all changes, read the full changelog here
