The Smart X-Ray Update
X-Ray now handles the heavy lifting for you. This update introduces automatic background updates that keep your character and event data current as you read.
Key Improvements:
- Seamless Updates: X-Ray now automatically fetches data for new chapters in the background, so your information is always ready when you need it.
- Custom Frequency: Use the new Auto X-Ray Settings to choose how often background updates occur, helping you balance fresh data with battery life....or disable them entirely.
- Automatic Recovery: If you skip ahead, the plugin will automatically identify and fill in any missing chapters during the next scheduled update.
- Support for Prologues: Major narrative sections like Prologues and Epilogues are now fully supported and correctly sorted in your timeline.
- Smart Data Merging: Instead of analyzing the whole book every time, the plugin only looks at the new pages you just read. It seamlessly adds new characters, locations, and timeline events to your existing X-Ray data.
- Auto-Recovery: If an update fails due to a dropped internet connection, or if you read past multiple chapters quickly, the plugin will automatically catch up and fill in the missing information on its next successful update.
- Automatic Start: When you open a brand new book, the plugin will automatically generate the initial X-Ray data for you in the background. You no longer have to trigger the first fetch manually.
- Updater bug Prevent the updater from clearing the user set API keys.
These changes also include several stability fixes to ensure a smooth experience on all devices, including older Kindle hardware.
