RimDroid 0.3.0
⚠️ RimDroid is still in beta. Device compatibility and performance vary, especially with large colonies, DLC, and heavy mod lists.
RimDroid is made by one person in evenings and weekends. There are no ads and no paywall. If the launcher gave you a colony in your pocket, a coffee on Ko-Fi helps me keep going, so your phone gets fixed faster. Thank you!
🆕 What's new
✅ RimWorld 1.7 (experimental)
RimDroid runs RimWorld 1.7, the update Ludeon is testing on Steam's unstable branch. It starts natively on Android, with nothing emulated, on Ludeon's new engine — and on a phone that shows: much lighter than 1.6, with higher FPS and TPS on the same phone.
- Mods. Ludeon promised that mods made for 1.6 keep working on the new engine, and many do — but not all yet. Use the Harmony mod from the Steam Workshop (the current version supports 1.7). Some 1.6 mods work only partly: Camera+, for example, works, but breaks the right-hand panel of the game's own mod list (mod details, the enable switch, Save). Manage such mods from the launcher's Mods screen instead.
- Typing in any language: colony and pawn names, search, chat — with the on-screen keyboard or a physical one, in any script the game can display. (On 1.6, typing is still Latin letters only.)
- Text size in the instance settings (100–140 %), for reading the game's UI on a phone.
- Mouse and gamepad work as on 1.6.
- As of this release (October 18, 2026), 1.7 is still a test version from Ludeon: things may break with their updates, and saves made in 1.7 do not go back to 1.6. Keep a separate instance for it.
✅ Steam downloads: 1.6 and 1.7
The in-app Steam download offers RimWorld 1.6 (the current public version) or 1.7 (the newest unstable test build). The game is saved as a zip in Download/RimDroid, and Create an instance opens instance creation with it. DLC can be downloaded for either version. Downloading by manifest has an unstable checkbox for test builds. RimWorld 1.5 is no longer offered for download; installed 1.5 instances keep working.
✅ RimWorld news
The home screen shows the two latest official RimWorld announcements from Steam. A tap opens the post.
✅ Mods screen
The launcher's side menu (☰ at the top left) → Mods:
- Enable all / Disable all for the mods shown (all of them, or what the search leaves). Core and the DLC stay on.
- Each mod shows the game versions its author lists; the instance's own version is green.
- With several instances, the screen asks which one to show instead of picking one for you.
- Several mods in one zip: put their folders into one zip and install it as MODS.
✅ New
- Swap gamepad sticks (instance settings → controls): left stick = cursor, right = camera. On 1.6 and 1.7.
✅ Fixes
- F10 screenshots are saved again on the native engine.
- Mod packs with Prepatcher install from one zip.
- The on-screen cursor stays where the stick left it when you tap or zoom.

⚠️ Reminder
Rimdroid is only a launcher.
To run the game, you still need the actual game files (Linux version), which you must obtain yourself - for example, by purchasing the game on Steam/GOG.
