What's new
- In this version, we made a series of accessibility improvements for visually impaired users. Glow will now respond much more accurately when Screen Reader or other reading tools are enabled. This allows visually impaired people to use it more easily.
- We optimized Glow to make it more efficient and reduced power consumption. Thanks to these improvements, we decreased CPU usage and increased performance. Glow now runs more efficiently with less processing power.
- Starting with Glow version v25.16, it is now compiled with Visual Studio 2026’s modern compiler. This brings the latest security updates, bug fixes, and performance enhancements for .NET Framework 4.8.1.
- The x86 (32-bit) architecture has been completely removed from Glow’s source code. As a result, Glow now operates more stably and faster.
- We conducted extensive work to increase startup speed on Windows 11 systems. As a result, Glow’s startup speed on Windows 11 improved by 40% and is now closer to Windows 10 levels.
- An Active Power Plan feature has been added to the Operating System section. This feature shows the system’s currently active power mode.
- An Active Power Plan GUID feature has been added to the Operating System section. This feature displays the GUID number of the system’s active power mode.
- A Display Timeout (Plugged In/Battery) feature has been added to the Operating System section. This feature shows how long it takes for the display to turn off both when plugged in and when on battery power.
- A Sleep Timeout (Plugged In/Battery) feature has been added to the Operating System section. This feature shows how long it takes for the computer to enter sleep mode both when plugged in and when on battery power.
- A "Processor Thread Count" feature has been added to the Processor section. This shows the number of threads the processor is currently running.
- A "Processor Handle Count" feature has been added to the Processor section. This shows the total number of system handles the processor is currently executing.
- The SFC and DISM Automation Tool has been improved. It now displays the progress of all executed commands as a percentage.
- A timer has been added to the SFC and DISM Automation Tool. This allows the tool to dynamically display the runtime and report the total duration at the end of the test.
- The System Identity Creation Tool has been improved. Identity generation now starts automatically as soon as the tool opens, allowing you to focus only on saving and comparing steps for faster operation. Additionally, timestamps have been added to report names to prevent confusion between reports created at different times of the day.
- The Cache Cleaning Tool has been improved. All cleaning paths are now processed as system variables, allowing dynamic automatic detection even if users change their directories.
- Bluetooth 6.2 support has been added to the Bluetooth Information Tool. Additionally, we improved and updated the reading infrastructure on Windows 11 systems, enabling nearly twice as fast read performance.
Fixed Bugs
- A rare issue that caused Glow to fail to locate the folder containing language files on some systems and special environments has been fixed.
- In the Graphics Card section, an issue that caused monitor information to become mixed up on systems using multiple monitors has been resolved. Information for each monitor is now displayed correctly.
- In the Motherboard section, a problem that caused the BIOS Update button to open the URL incorrectly in some browsers has been fixed. The link now works correctly in all browsers.
- An issue that caused the RAM Speed feature in the Memory section to appear inconsistent has been resolved.
- A bug in the Quick Access Tool that prevented the Tab key index order from being rebuilt after buttons were rearranged based on the interface language has been fixed. The Tab key now navigates in the correct order.
Changes
