Patch Changes
c8040ffThanks @tufantunc! - Mask short, low-entropy credentials in plaintext configuration assignments (name=value, UCIoption name 'value') during output redaction when the field name indicates a secret.
Security
- Fixed GHSA-95pj-qcm9-m3m9: every redaction layer keyed off the value's shape — known token patterns, the entropy scan, configured literal secrets — so a short, low-entropy credential under a sensitive field name (
webhook_token=abc123,password="demo123", OpenWrtoption wifi_psk 'sample123') passedredactText()unchanged into file reads, command output, session output and audit logs. Plaintext assignments whose field name indicates a secret — the last_/-segment ispassword, passwd, pass, passphrase, secret, tokenorpsk, or the name is a known key compound (key,private_key,api-key, …), covering UCIoption/listlines and the dotted tails ofuci show— are now masked, whilepassword_min,PasswordAuthentication,persist_keyandsmtp_sasl_password_mapsstay untouched. Reported by @jbdaddy04. Affected:<= 2.22.1.
