Updating from 1.4.0? The in-app update in 1.4.0 fails with "Command plugin:dialog|confirm not allowed by ACL". Please download
rpgsaveeditor_1.5.0_x64-setup.exebelow and run it once (it installs over 1.4.0, your saves are not touched). From 1.5.0 on, updates work from inside the app again.
What's new
- Advanced tab: browse every value in the save as a tree and edit numbers, text and true/false values, for games whose plugins or scripts keep data in their own places
- Powerful search in the Advanced tab: exact text, regular expressions, number comparisons (
>1000,100..200) and paths (party.@gold,actors.**.@hp); press?for the syntax - Find unknown values: open a save, then a later save of the same game, search for values that changed, increased or decreased, and use Refine to narrow them down with each new save
- Update check on startup: new versions are offered in a small notification (Update / Later / Skip this version); can be turned off in About
- Release notes now show with proper formatting, and "What's new" appears once after updating
- New start screen; open saves by drag & drop
- Unsaved changes are tracked: you're asked before closing, opening another file, reloading or updating
- Searches, sorting and expanded sections are kept when switching tabs; search boxes with a query are highlighted and can be cleared with ✕ or Esc
- "Scroll to top" button on long pages
- Redesigned About tab with supported formats, keyboard shortcuts and useful links
- The light/dark theme is remembered, and notifications follow it
Fixes
- XP/VX/VX Ace saves could be corrupted when the save contained certain special characters (bytes 0x80–0x9F); if you edited such a save with 1.4.0, edit it again from a backup
- Floats (e.g. some move speeds) could not be edited in older XP/VX saves
- Editing XP/VX/VX Ace saves is now instant, even for large saves
- Party: characters with the same name are told apart, main stats are shown first, and edited values are highlighted
- Very long item names no longer stretch the tables
- Buy Me a Coffee, PayPal and GitHub links in About now open
- An error on a page now shows a message instead of a blank window
