Thor v1.16.6 - The Quality of Life Update
Hello everyone,
First, I want to extend a sincere apology for the long gap between updates. I encountered some personal challenges over the last three months that required me to step away from development. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I'm happy to be back with a new release focused on foundational improvements for Thor.
This update is a major Quality of Life upgrade. While it doesn't introduce many new visual features, it involves a significant rewrite of the app's core to make it faster, more stable, and ready for future development.
What's New
- Improved Performance: We've moved app list loading to suspend functions and are now collecting them as flows. This significantly improves performance and responsiveness, especially on devices with many apps.
- Startup Time Fix: An issue causing long startup times for some users has been resolved. The app should now launch much faster for everyone.
- Modern Architecture: The app's codebase has been refactored to use a modern, state-based flow with ViewModels. This leads to a more stable and predictable user experience.
- Koin Integration: We've replaced manual dependency injection with Koin, streamlining the codebase and making future development more efficient.
- Dependency Upgrades: Several internal libraries have been updated to their latest versions, bringing minor security and stability enhancements.

Active development has resumed, and here are some of the exciting features planned for upcoming releases:

- Recycler Bin for uninstalled apps
