beta123.11
Fewer buttons on screen: Dynamic view
Breeze screens can show dozens of buttons. In Dynamic view the panel shows only the buttons that go with the shift keys you are holding:
- Hold nothing: the everyday buttons.
- Hold ZL: the buttons whose shortcut starts with ZL.
- Hold ZR: the buttons whose shortcut starts with ZR.
- Hold ZL and ZR: the buttons that need both.
Let go and the everyday buttons come back. The panel is now also a reminder of the shortcuts: hold ZL and you see everything ZL can do on this screen.
To try it on every screen: press L+ZR to open Focused Actions, move to Dynamic in the list on the left, and press Load layout (Y).
To turn it on for one screen only: go to that screen, press L+ZR, and press the Dynamic=OFF button so it reads Dynamic=ON. Press it again to turn it off.
What you will notice:
- The view button at the bottom of the panel reads Dynamic, followed by the ZL and ZR symbols with a number: how many buttons each one holds on this screen.
- While you hold a shift key, that button shows the key you are holding. If the key has no buttons on this screen, the panel stays as it is and the button says (none).
- The panel changes size with each set of buttons.
- The cursor remembers where it was in each set.
- Nothing is switched off. Every shortcut still works whether its button is on screen or not, and you can still move the cursor to a button and press A while holding the shift key.
- If you use a Focused layout, Dynamic splits only the buttons of that layout.
Built-in layouts are green and protected
In Focused Actions, the layouts that come with Breeze -- Player, Beginner maker, Advanced maker, Engine tools, All and the new Dynamic -- are now listed in green.
Breeze rewrites these every time it starts, so anything saved into them used to disappear at the next launch. Now Save layout, Rename layout and Delete layout refuse on a green layout and tell you why. To keep your own version, load the green one, change it, and use New layout with a name of your own.
Shortcuts that changed
Many buttons got a shortcut for the first time, so they have a place in Dynamic view. Others had a shortcut that never worked, or that set off something else on the way; those have a new one. The button itself always shows its current shortcut.

More games recognised
Game Information now names two more engines:
- Pixel Game Maker MV (the "Pixel Game Maker Series" games), which used to read "none recognised".
- Luau, the scripting language of Legend of Grimrock, which used to read as a plain native game.
Fixes
- Edit Cheats no longer traps you in a message box when the game has closed. Before, pressing OK brought the same message straight back.
- PC app: a new Reset button restarts Breeze from any screen, for when a menu cannot be left with the buttons.
